President Dr Mohamed Muizzu returned to Malé today after concluding his trip to Kolhumadulu Atoll.
The President's first destination on his three-day visit to Kolhumadulu Atoll was Guraidhoo Island. The President then travelled to Dhiyamigili, Madifushi, Veymandoo, Buruni, Kandoodhoo, Vandhoo, Omadhoo, Kinbidhoo, and Gaadhiffushi Islands, where he met with residents, island councils, and the Women's Development Committee (WDCs). He also met with island councils and WDCs from Vilufushi, Hirilandhoo, and Thimarafushi Islands.
During his visit to the islands of Kolhumadulu Atoll, the President spoke about the complex economic and financial situation faced by the country, urging island councils to reprioritise and submit a list of developmental projects in order of significance to ensure that the Government could prioritise the most critical projects for individual islands. He further stressed the Administration's measures towards improving the country's economic situation. The President detailed that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had endorsed the Government's economic agenda to alleviate the economic hardship.
A high-level Government delegation accompanied President Dr Muizzu on his tour of the Kolhumadulu Atoll.
