President Mohamed Nasheed has today opened Maldives International Badminton Challenge 2010. The tournament being organised by Badminton Association of Maldives will be held from 25th to 29 May 2010 at Male’ Sports Complex.
Opening the Championship, President Nasheed said he was happy that such a tournament was being held in the Maldives and wished the players luck.
Maldives International Badminton Challenge 2010 is the first international badminton tournament to be held in the Maldives. In addition to international players, Maldivian players also participated in the championship.
The Championship will consist 5 categories of Individual Events: Men's Singles; Women's Singles; Men's Doubles; Women's Doubles; and, Mixed Doubles. The five categories will be played by knock-out system.
