As part of his official visit to Singapore, President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with President of Singapore Mr S. R. Nathan.
At the meeting held at Istana, the official residence of the President of Singapore, President Nasheed underscored the close friendly relations that exist between the Maldives and Singapore. The President thanked the President, the government and the people of Singapore for their continued support and assistance to the Maldives.
The President also invited President Nathan to make an official visit to the Maldives.
President Nathan expressed his joy in welcoming President Nasheed to Singapore, and said the relations between both countries have strengthened in the recent years.
