President Mohamed Nasheed has today formed the local councils as stipulated in the Decentralisation Act (Act number 7/2010).
Local councils formed by the President today include 19 atoll councils, 189 island councils and 2 city councils. The two city councils are Male’ City Council and Addu City Council.
