Special Envoy of the President Ibrahim Hussain Zaki today inaugurated the land reclamation and airport development project in Thimarafushi of Thaa Atoll.
Speaking at the ceremony held in the island this afternoon, the Special Envoy of the President said he was confident that this project would benefit the whole country.
He said economic activities would increase in the area and more development opportunities would be available for the people of Thimarafushi and the whole province.
A total of 41 hectares will be added to the islands when the reclamation project is completed. Of which 31 hectares will be allocated for the development of the airport. The project is contracted to Hansang of South Korea.
