President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih arrived in Malé on Monday afternoon after concluding his visit to Kaashidhoo Island in Kaafu Atoll to attend activities held to mark National Farmers’ Day and World Food Day 2022.

On Kaashidhoo Island, the President attended the official ceremony to commemorate National Farmer's Day and World Food Day 2022. Speaking at the ceremony, he stated that after consulting with the farmers, the administration decided to increase the amount of the agricultural loan offered to farmers to MVR 2 Million in order to address their concerns and grievances. Following the event, President Solih attended a special banquet hosted to mark National Farmer's Day and World Food Day.

As part of the President’s visit to Kaashidhoo Island, the President visited the agricultural exhibition held to mark Farmers’ Day and met with members of the farming community, the members of the island council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC). He also visited the healthcare centre on the island.

Before travelling to Kaashidhoo Island, the President also visited Sun Island Resort and Spa and attended the games of the "Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022"—the highest-ranked sporting event hosted in the Maldives. Promoting the Maldives as a destination for international sporting events was a Presidential pledge. Under this sports policy, this is the sixth international competition held in the Maldives this year.
