President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced that 40,000 housing units will be set up in the Maldives over the course of five years, including the high-quality housing project in Nolhivaranfaru. He made the remarks while addressing the residents of Nolhivaranfaru Sunday evening.

The President emphasised the importance of Nolhivaranfaru accumulating a medium-term and long-term plan to consolidate the population. He also noted that the harbour expansion project will be tailored to the residents’ wants.

Referring to strengthening the health care system, the President elaborated that the island requires essential specialised doctors and the availability of high-quality laboratory services to establish a health centre. Furthermore, he announced that a new school, including a multipurpose hall, will be built on the island.

In his remarks, the President reiterated his commitment to implementing all pledged plans while managing the economic situation and budget.
