President Mohamed Nasheed has established the National Drug Agency in accordance with the Article 30(a) of the Act number 17/2011 (Drugs Act).
Following its establishment, the National Drug Agency will undertake the functions previously performed by the Department of Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation Service.
The President has also appointed members to Board of National Drug Agency. Minister of State for Health and Family, Ms Lubna Zahir Hussain was appointed as the Chairman of the Board.
